Demographics of Aging in Wisconsin

This page provides links to information about population aging in Wisconsin counties. The PowerPoint slideshow titled "Wisconsin's Elder Boom: Projections for the Growing 65+ Population" provides a series of colored maps showing how population aging is expected to affect Wisconsin counties over the next 25 years. The numbers behind the maps are available in the downloadable Excel file called "Population Projection Tables."  All population projections data come from the Wisconsin Department of Administration's Population Projections program.

Social and Economic Profiles:
The American Community Survey

While the Census provides population counts, the Census Bureau collects social and economic information using the American Community Survey.  Based on Survey information, demographic profiles are available for each county and for the state as a whole, detailing the characteristics of the county's older population.  The information comes from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey for 2008-12, in a printer-friendly Excel format for you to download or print.
