Certification
Performance of Asbestos Investigation and Abatement

Certification is required before conducting most asbestos-related activities.  The Asbestos and Lead Section in the Department of Health Services administers the certification (licensure) required to perform asbestos activities in Wisconsin.  The certification process begins after an individual has completed a training course in Wisconsin from an accredited training provider.  The Asbestos Certification Table (PDF, 18 KB) lists the required course(s), fees, and additional requirements.  Certified individuals must work for a certified asbestos company.

Applications are processed in the order they are received.  Incomplete application materials will be returned to the sender for completion.

For application forms, visit the Wisconsin Asbestos Program Forms webpage.
