Civil Rights Protections

All people applying for or getting benefits are protected from discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. Under the Food and Nutrition Act and USDA policy, discrimination is also prohibited on the basis of religion or political beliefs. State and federal laws require all benefits to be provided on a nondiscriminatory basis.
