The Handbook presents a combination of good financial management practices and
various financial management requirements that providers must meet as a condition of
receiving DHS funds. This Handbook is intended for the use by provider agencies
in the health and human services system receiving DHS funds, either, directly from the
department or through counties.
Managing
Contracts - A Guide for Contract Administrators(PDF, 964 KB). This guide was written by a group of procurement experts from
several state agencies to provide advice to contract
administrators. It has well-written, generic advice, and
while relatively short, it is comprehensive enough to be a good
resource for many contracting situations. Keep in mind that the
intended audience is state contract experts, so you'll see
references to the "state" as the purchaser and
references to state procurement law. Some of these concepts might
not apply to your organization.

DHS staff for an April 2001 training session on developing and monitoring contracts.
