Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention ProgramIn Wisconsin, heart disease is the number one cause of death, and stroke is the number three cause of death. These two diseases are cardiovascular diseases, which also include high blood pressure. Much of the health and economic burden of cardiovascular disease can be prevented and controlled through increased physical activity, maintaining a healthy body weight and eating a healthy diet. The Wisconsin Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program works to alleviate the burden of cardiovascular disease in the state. Spotlight
