Family Care Independent Disability Ombudsman Program
On October 1, 2008, the Department of Health Services and Disability
Rights Wisconsin (exit DHS) entered into a
contract for the Family Care Ombudsman Program services. Disability Rights
Wisconsin will provide Ombudsman services to current or potential enrollees
(ages 18 - 59) of the Family Care and Family
Care Partnership programs, or to their families or guardians, as required Wis. Stats.
46.281(1n)(e). In 2009, Wis. Stats. 46.281 (1n) (e) was amended
to include ombudsman services for IRIS participates ages 18-59.
The ombudsman assist Family Care members, IRIS participates, potential members, and their families,
in navigating the program and in resolving their problems
informally whenever possible.
