GOVERNOR DOYLE ANNOUNCES FOOD ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR
FLOOD VICTIMS
Applications Must Be Submitted Between 11/9-11/17
MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle announced today that the Department of
Health Services will operate a Disaster FoodShare Program for certain
residents of Grant County who were economically affected by severe storms
on July 20th. The Disaster FoodShare Program is an additional benefit to
current FEMA assistance for households who had expenses or losses because
of the flooding and power outages from the storms.
Grant County households currently enrolled on FoodShare who got less
than the maximum amount of FoodShare benefits in July 2010 will need to
contact Grant County Department of Social Services in person or by phone.
Households that did not receive FoodShare benefits in July 2010 must
apply for disaster FoodShare benefits in person at one of the locations
below. You must bring proof of identity. If possible, applicants should
also bring proof of residency and income for July and August. Households
that qualify will receive a one-time FoodShare benefit for the maximum
amount according to their household size.
To speed up the application process, households with access to the
Internet can print and fill out an application ahead of time at the
following website: http://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/foodshare.
