THOMAS WIEGERS APPOINTED ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE DIVISION OF ENTERPRISE
SERVICES
MADISONDepartment of
Health Services (DHS) Secretary Dennis Smith announced today that Thomas
D. Wiegers has been selected as the new Administrator for the
Division of Enterprise Services effective immediately.
The Division of Enterprise Services oversees financial
management, information systems and technology, personnel and employment
relations, affirmative action and civil rights compliance as well as
purchasing and contract administration, facilities management and other
administrative services.
“Tom
brings to the Department a wealth of experience in operational management,
information technology services and contract administration and is proven
to be a strong and effective leader,” said Secretary Smith. “I am
pleased Tom is joining us and I know he will be an asset in enhancing the
Department’s operations infrastructure and internal efficiencies.”
Wiegers has
a vast range of experiences in strategic planning and operational
management. He recently served as a manager in contract
administration at the Milwaukee County Department of Family Care where he
supervised several Contract Administrators and was responsible for a
contract base of more than 1200 providers in the Family Care Program.
Prior
to working in Milwaukee County, Wiegers was the Director of
Best Practices and Quality Assurance at the Milwaukee Center for
Independence (MCFI). There he centralized a contract system for the agency
and its affiliates and developed a comprehensive reporting system that
allowed management to view agency performance against all program outcome
measures and contract obligations. In
addition, Wiegers has also held key positions as Vice President of
Administration at Star Cutter Company, and the Director of Consulting at
Industrial and Financial Systems.
Wiegers holds
a Master of Business Administration degree from the Keller Graduate School
of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of
Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
