SOUTHERN WISCONSIN CENTER RECEIVES FORWARD AWARD FOR
PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE
MADISON—The Southern Wisconsin Center has received a Wisconsin
Forward Award from the Wisconsin Center of Performance Excellence for its
performance achievements and work on continuous improvement planning.
The award honored the state facility, which specializes in serving
individuals with developmental disabilities, for establishing measurable
goals that reflect its mission, vision and values and lead to ongoing
improvements that enhance quality of life for residents.
“This award reflects the commitment of staff to improving their
ability to carry out the Center’s mission, create a quality workplace,
face current and future challenges and be a good corporate citizen for
Wisconsin communities,” said Department of Health Services Secretary
Dennis G. Smith.
“We strongly believe we have a responsibility to the people who live
and work at Southern Wisconsin Center to continuously improve our
services,” said Jim Henkes, Southern Wisconsin Center Director.
The Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence supports economic
development by helping organizations maximize their efficiency,
profitability, quality and sustainability. The Wisconsin Forward Award is
modeled on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
The facility received the award, along with five other organizations,
at a ceremony on February 23rd at the American Family Conference Center in
Madison.
