"Capitol White," Photograph, Steven Ralser
Friend of Kathryn Lederhause, DHS employee
Was on Display:
December 2010 - February 2011
"My name is Steven Ralser and I am an Australian, currently living in Madison, WI. Since moving to North America I have lived in New Brunswick, Canada and Socorro, NM. I have a PhD in Geology from Monash University in Australia, and am currently a part time Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Chemistry, Geoscience, and Physics at Edgewood College in Madison.
I have been taking photos since high school (in Canberra, Australia), but got seriously into photography while enjoying the beauty of the Socorro area in New Mexico.
These photographs are of the Capitol here in Madison. In these photos I try to capture the Capitol in a different light from how it is usually seen. Most of the night photos are High Dynamic Range (HDR) images, in which multiple photos are taken at different exposures. Software is then used to combine these photos into one image - this allows you to see detail in both the dark and bright areas. The panorama is in fact a compilation of 24 photos. The panorama is also available as a stunning black and white image.
If you are interested in any of these photos do not hesitate to contact me."
