Governor Walker's Mental Health Reforms
On June 30, 2013, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker signed the biennial
budget into law. That bill contains a
nearly $30 million dollar investment of taxpayer funds to enhance and
expand mental health services to state residents with mental illness.
With modification by the legislature of only one of the proposed
initiatives, the new policies and programs will provide the resources
to, in the words of Governor Walker, "improve and expand care, as well
as give support to, those living with mental illness."
Programs and services included in the Governorís 2013-2015 Biennial
