Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) Volunteers
Ship Volunteers are an important component of the SHIP. They are a great
resource for local SHIP agencies, particularly during the Annual Election
Period, when the demands on the SHIP exceed available resources.
Several local SHIP agencies have established volunteer programs to
assist SHIP counselors in any number of ways. Depending on the volunteer's
background and experience, they can assist with simple clerical tasks or
with more complex duties relating to SHIP activities -- provided they
receive adequate training and supervision.
