Asbestos and Lead Section

The Asbestos and Lead Section of the Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health, Division of Public Health, administers asbestos and lead training provider accreditation and certification programs for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) under provisions of ch. 254, Wis. Stats.  In addition to issuing certification cards and accrediting training provider courses for lead activities and investigations, the program establishes and monitors standards for conducting investigation and abatement activities.  The Section also administers the Lead-free / Lead-Safe Registry, which is recorded into the Wisconsin Asbestos Lead Database Online, for properties covered by a certificate of lead-free or lead-safe status.
