Be a Community Partner

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services encourages community-based organizations to help people apply for BadgerCare Plus. By creating partnerships with local agencies, community-based organizations can help individuals and families enroll in BadgerCare Plus and educate people about the program.

There are many ways that you can help insure families in Wisconsin:

  1. Community partners who want to be identified as qualified to submit Express Enrollment (EE) for Children, must complete the provider enrollment application on the ForwardHealth Portal (exit DHS). From the Portal home page, the application can be accessed by clicking on the Express Enrollment for Children link located in the Partners box on the right side of the page.

    ForwardHealth no longer accepts paper EE applications.

    Partners have the opportunity to review the EE criteria at the beginning of the enrollment process. Links to the criteria are also available on the Express Enrollment page of the Provider Enrollment Information (exit DHS) area of the Portal.
     

  2. Share information with your clients! How to order forms and publications.
     

  3. Help people apply online via ACCESS at access.wi.gov. There are four tools on ACCESS that you can use to:

    • Help people to apply,

    • See if they are eligible,

    • Check the status of their benefits, and

    • Report their changes.

     

  4. Help to educate people about changes to the program. It is now easier for people to apply for BadgerCare Plus. 
     

  5. Help your customers stay healthy by providing them with brochures and information about what they can do for their health. We also ask that you provide the Health Needs Assessment Survey.
     

  6. Learn how to use ACCESS by using our training tool (exit DHS).
