Cataracts

What are cataracts?

Close to, if not at the head of the list of eye disorders causing blindness for the elderly. It is said that if we live long enough, most of us will develop a cataract.

Cataracts are opacity, or clouding, of the eye's lens which blocks the passage of light needed for vision. Treatment for cataracts is surgical removal of the clouded lens by the ophthalmologist.
