EXCEL Treatment Unit
EXCEL is a short-term, comprehensive evaluation and treatment program. This program serves  children
and adults with developmental disabilities who are also diagnosed with
mental illness. EXCEL specializes in
individualized treatment of people exhibiting
difficult and challenging behaviors that are causing distress for the
person and may be jeopardizing current or pending community living
arrangements. EXCEL provides a
full complement of services including behavioral and psychiatric
evaluation and treatment, medical services, person-specific training and
vocational programming. These programs and services are designed to
prepare individuals to live successfully in a community setting. EXCEL
offers personalized apartments with private and semi-private
bedrooms. An activity room with exercise equipment, arcade games and
group activities is a popular place to enjoy healthy activities and
interaction with others. Our beautiful wooded campus offers
opportunities for hiking, picnicking and other outdoor
interests. EXCEL is
the place that offers a person the opportunity to maximize his/her quality
of life.
