Pathways to Independence Program Wisconsin Pathways to Independence is a research and demonstration project proposed by the Governor of Wisconsin, the Department of Health and Family Services (DHS) and the Department of Workforce Development. Wisconsin Pathways to Independence seeks to remove barriers to employment for people with severe disabilities and provide ready access to the comprehensive help they need in order to work. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a monthly cash benefit paid by the federal Social Security Administration (SSA) (Exit DHS) and state Department of Health and Family Services (DHS) Department of Health and Family Services (DHS) to people in financial need who are 65 or older or people of any age who are blind or disabled and residents of Wisconsin. Wisconsin Vocational Rehabilitation Wisconsin Vocational Rehabilitation is a federal/state program designed to obtain, maintain, and improve employment for people with disabilities by working with vocational rehabilitation consumers, employers, and other partners.
