Subject: 2008 charges for Intensive Treatment Services at DD Centers
for Children and Adolescents
I am writing as a follow up to the Numbered
Memo 2007-06 pertaining to fiscal implications of the
"realignment of program missions for mental health institutes and
centers for the developmentally disabled." This numbered memo
explained that during CY 2007 DHS
will fund the non-federal (County)
share of costs for any child or adolescent under the age of 22 who is
voluntarily admitted to a DD Center and is in need of active treatment
between April 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007. This numbered memo also
stated that DHS
will waive the 10% surcharge for children transferred
from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute SMIC/TLC Units during CY 2007.
Finally, this Numbered Memo says "beginning in CY 2008, DHS
will
impose appropriate ITP costs and surcharges for former and future SMIC and
TLC clients admitted to the ITP."
The purpose of this memo is to bring to your attention that effective
January 1, 2008 appropriate costs and surcharges for children and
adolescents admitted to the Centers Intensive Treatment Programs will
apply. Currently, the County share of ITP costs is $312.76 per day.
Beginning on January 1, 2008, all children and adolescents (as well as
adults) who are currently at, or in the future admitted to a State Center
Intensive Treatment Program will be subject to the daily rate of
$312.76 or the prevailing daily rate at the time of admission. Likewise,
the 10% surcharge applies when an admission is beyond 90 days and has not
been mutually agreed to by the ITP and the County. Please make sure your
staff is aware of this charge.
I look forward to working with all of you as we continue our work on
realigning our program mission so that individuals with developmental
disabilities can receive integrated, developmentally appropriate services
to support community living.
