Document Summary
This memo describes an opportunity for Wisconsin counties to apply for a grant to enhance their Intoxicated Driver Programs (IDP).Wisconsin continues to rank #1 in self-reported intoxicated driving making it a serious public health concern. This RFP is to solicit proposals from counties that implement or enhance evidence-based strategies to improve outcomes of intoxicated drivers and to improve interagency cooperation among community partners.
Background and New Information
The Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (DMHSAS) is awarding a total of $500,000 with (2) 1 year extensions to Wisconsin counties for the implementation or enhancement of programs and services to individuals convicted of operating while intoxicated (OWI) offenses, particularly to those individuals identified as Hard-Core Drunk Drivers by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).Evaluation Criteria
Please submit a proposal that describes the plan for either implementation or enhancement of services to intoxicated drivers. The top scoring agencies’ proposals may receive a site visit as a part of the review prior to the final selection.Grants are awarded on a competitive basis and proposals will be assessed points as identified below.
