Wisconsin
Department of Health Services
(DHS)
has many responsibilities including child welfare, long term care, physical and
developmental disability programs, sensory disability programs, mental health, public
health, BadgerCare Plus
(exit DHS) , Medicaid, regulation and licensing
of a variety of programs and facilities, and operation of care and treatment facilities.
Wisconsin
Office of the Commissioner of Insurance regulates and monitors health insurance plans
and health maintenance organizations.

Department of Employee Trust Funds operates the health benefit program for Wisconsin
state employees and retirees.
