The purpose of the Health Disparities Task Force was to improve
coordination of Department efforts to address health disparities in
Wisconsin. Originally, four meetings were scheduled to take place between April 2011 and
April 2012. Six times, in the span of that one year, the Minority Health Program convened expert volunteers
from throughout the Department to:
Develop a standardized tool to track DHS' progress in reducing
health disparities;
Share information that highlights crosscutting or urgent issues
related to health disparities;
Develop a plan of program integration to align efforts for policy
changes to eliminate health disparities; and
Develop a Department-wide work culture in which reducing health
disparities is a priority.
