Wisconsin Primary Care ProgramsCLINICIANS/STUDENTSNHSC Scholarship program: (exit DHS) Payment of tuition, fees and certain other educational expenses for students in certain health professions education programs (dentists, psychiatrists, and primary care physicians, advanced practice nurses, and physician assistants), in exchange for working at a clinic in a high-need shortage area at least two years. - Clinics must provide financial access to care and meet other NHSC site requirements. Students can sign up for email notification to receive an alert regarding when the program will begin accepting applications for the 2011-2012 school year (the deadline for the 2010-2011 year has passed). NHSC Loan repayment program: (exit DHS) Repayment of student educational loans for certain health professionals (primary care, dental and mental health) in exchange for working at a clinic in a high-need shortage area for at least two years. - Clinics must provide financial access to care and meet other NHSC site requirements. NHSC loan repayment program is accepting applications until May 26, 2011. There is an online portion of the application and supporting documents that need to be mailed or faxed to NHSC. All application materials must be received by the closing date. Work sites must also become NHSC approved to be eligible for a clinician to receive loan repayment or a scholar to complete their service.
