Reports/Publications

"Parents: Look Out for Lead" in English (P-44535A, PDF, 92 KB) & Spanish (P-44535S, PDF, 92KB) A tri-fold pamphlet for parents/caregivers providing basic information about blood lead testing, where to look for lead hazards and what to do about them.

"Contractors/Painters/Home Remodelers: Look Out for Lead" (P-44529, PDF, 294 KB) A tri-fold pamphlet for contractors providing basic information to consider before starting a remodeling job, such as using lead-safe work practices and notifying families with young children about how to protect their family from lead hazards in the home.

"Rental Property Owners: Look Out for Lead" (P-44535B, PDF, 334 KB) A tri-fold pamphlet for rental property owners who own properties built before 1978 that may contain lead hazard and may be occupied by families with young children. Includes information on what can be done to correct lead hazards and about the law to notify tenants about lead hazards and how to prevent exposure to lead.

	Annually, the Medicaid Provider Blood Lead Testing Report is sent to Wisconsin health care providers who provide medical care to children enrolled in the Medicaid program. The individualized report summarizes the provider's blood lead testing data for children under age 6. Medicaid Providers Blood Lead Testing Performance Data (PDF, 494 KB) Data was presented at the Wisconsin Implementation and Oversight Committee to Eliminate Lead Poisoning on health care provider blood lead testing performance, lead hazard reduction activity and factors affecting the decrease in children's blood lead levels.
	In April 2010, the Wisconsin Legislature passed Senate Joint Resolution 65 which required the Elimination Plan Implementation and Oversight Committee to submit a report on the costs borne by the educational and criminal justice systems attributable to lead poisoning and methods to address lead paint hazards in housing. The report, delivered to the Wisconsin Legislature on December 30, 2010, is entitled "Response to 2009 Senate Joint Resolution 65." (PDF, 189 KB)
	IOC Policy Priorities (Exit DHS). This document is intended to provide public policy leaders with the policy priorities developed by the IOC: (1) early intervention for new cases of lead poisoning, (2) making older homes lead-safe and (3) establishing protective public policy and infrastructure to protect all children.
	Housing Trust Funds and Wisconsin: Funding for Lead Hazard Control (PDF, 189 KB) This report summarizes an analysis of housing trust funds as a way to finance housing rehabilitation, conducted by students with the UW-Madison LaFollette School of Public Affairs.
	Legacy of Lead: Report on Childhood Lead Poisoning in Wisconsin 2008 Released July 2008 by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. This compelling report presents in-depth information about the effects, costs and extent of lead poisoning in Wisconsin's children and how lead poisoning can be prevented.

Newsletters/Toolkits

	The kids unLEADed e-newsletter has been issued since 2009 by Children's Health Alliance of Wisconsin. This e-newsletter contains updates on childhood lead poisoning prevention with regards to blood lead testing, funding and housing, education, advocacy and public policy. Included in every issue are highlights on local partnership efforts. 	The Renovate Right Toolkit (Word, 1.7 MB) contains sample press releases, talking points, ideas for outreach and more to provide education in your community about the Wisconsin NEW Lead-Safe Renovation Rule.
	Community Partnership Meeting Toolkit (PDF, 163 KB) This toolkit contains tips and items to consider when planning a meeting to bring together health, housing and family serving agencies to discuss ways to create lead-safe housing. Included in the Toolkit: Appendix of Resource Materials are sample letters, flyers, brochures--tools to readily prepare for the meeting.
	Capillary Collection Resource Kit (PDF, 648 KB) This packet contains the information needed to initiate capillary blood lead sampling for patients in a health care provider's office.
