In April 2010, the Wisconsin Legislature passed Senate Joint
Resolution 65 which required the Elimination Plan Implementation and
Oversight Committee to submit a report on the costs borne b y the
educational and criminal justice systems attributable to lead
poisoning and methods to address lead paint hazards in housing. The
report, delivered to the Wisconsin Legislature on December 30, 2010,
is entitled "Response
to 2009 Senate Joint Resolution 65." |

Preventable Tragedy: How Lead Poisoning Affects Children Across Their Life
Course. Scientific studies have demonstrated the effects of
childhood lead poisoning over
more than three decades. This is a summary of some of the critical effects
that impact health and behavior problems across the lifespan.

Lead Poisoning in Wisconsin 2010. This background paper was developed to provide the most
current research about the effects of lead poisoning on children and
how it continues to cause damage to
their health and well-being throughout their lifespan. The report also
discusses efforts to address lead poisoning at the state, federal
and international level.
