Mission
and Charge of the Benefit and Systems Design Workgroup
The purpose of the benefit and system design workgroup is
to make recommendations for contract language concerning target population, enrollment
procedures, quality improvement practices, grievance and appeal procedures, covered
services and coordination and care requirements related to the MH/AODA managed care
demonstrations projects. In meeting this charge the group should:
- Consider examples of contract language used in other Wisconsin Medicaid programs and by
managed care programs in other states that are targeting the same or a similar population.
- Identify whether different contract language is required for integrated programs vs.
carve-out programs, for rural areas vs. urban areas, for mandatory programs vs. voluntary
programs or based on other distinctions between program models.
- Develop a benefit package with a full array of age appropriate, flexible and creative
treatment options, which meet the consumer’s needs and foster prevention, improvement
and recovery.
