Family Care and Partnership/PACE
Financial Summaries
As part of its oversight responsibility for the Family Care and
Partnership/PACE programs, the Bureau of Financial Management (BFM) within
the Department of Health Services (DHS) collects and reviews financial
statements from the participating Managed Care Organizations (MCO). This
information is summarized and shared with parties, both internal and
external. To help increase transparency of the Family Care program, DHS is
sharing this summary financial information on its website.
There has been an evolution over the last several years in both the
amount of information collected from the Family Care MCOs, as well as enhancements in how that information is reported to stakeholders. You will
note this evolution in the detailed information posted for the different
reporting periods. While this represents continued improvements in the
information that is available, this makes comparisons across time periods
more challenging.
The summary information will be posted to this website on a quarterly
basis. Financial information is submitted to DHS within 45 days of the end
of each quarter. Information for the first three quarters of the year will
typically be posted after an additional 45 day period to allow for review
of the results by DHS and the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI),
and to allow the MCOs an opportunity to provide responses to questions
that may be raised. This means that financial information will be posted
approximately 90 days after the end of each of the first three quarters.
The posting of fourth quarter results is delayed until after receipt of
the audited financial statements, which are due to DHS by June 1 of the
next contracted fiscal period. Typically, fourth quarter results from the
prior year are posted around the same time as first quarter results from
