Reimbursement Equity
Currently, the Department has varying reimbursement
rates for the same services when provided in different settings. These
differences in reimbursements lead to incentives to provide care in the
setting that yields the highest reimbursement. In addition, some
providers are guaranteed to be reimbursed the full cost of Medicaid
services regardless of whether the care is delivered in a cost effective
manner through cost based reimbursement.
