Wow! That’s all I could say after I found a trauma-informed program. I wasn’t labeled. I wasn’t talked down to. I wasn’t “less than” anyone else.
and maybe for the first time in my life I actually felt like I mattered. The people I work with in the trauma-informed care program talk about how understanding my trauma will help me to heal and find peace – and I’m seeing how that can happen.

I work in a community support program and learned about trauma-informed care a couple of years ago.  That’s when I decided to Shift My Perspective. There are so many people that have experienced violence, abuse, disaster and war – and seeing these traumas as central meant Shifting My Perspective.  It’s about organizational change that builds a true collaboration with the people we serve.  Trauma-informed care is the right thing to do for everyone!
