MISSION

and patient care in safe settings for challenging and complex patient

VISION
Mendota shall play a prominent role in providing innovative,
compassionate mental health treatment and patient care for the State’s
most challenging and complex patient populations.

Interactions
- Helping. We help by listening
to each patient’s needs, understanding their circumstances and
acting in response.
- Quality Treatment and Care.
Quality mental health treatment and patient care must always be
provided to our patients and continuously improved as knowledge
advances.
- Respect and Dignity. All
patients deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
- Safety and Security. All
patients deserve to feel safe and secure when in our care.
- Participation. Patient and
family participation in treatment planning and input in other aspects
of their care is essential.
Staff
Interactions
- Helping. We help by listening
to our customers (patients, fellow staff and those external to the
Institute), understanding their circumstances and acting in response
to such.
- Quality Treatment and Care.
Quality staff is a key determinant of the quality of treatment and
care provided to our patients. Staff training and education is
critical to maintaining quality staff.
- Respect and Dignity. All staff
deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
- Safety and Security.
Recognizing there are inherent dangers in our work, all staff deserve
to feel safe and secure in the workplace to the fullest extent
possible.
- Participation. Individuals,
departments and units must work independently and in cooperation with
others in order to provide quality treatment and care.

to our customers (patients, fellow staff and those external to the
Institute), understanding their circumstances and acting in response
to such.
- Quality Treatment and Care.
The quality of treatment and care we provide shall be monitored and
continuously improved.
- Respect and Dignity. Internal
and external customers deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
We value cooperative relationships with those with whom we come in
contact during our work.
- Safety and Security. We
recognize the dual role of providing treatment and ensuring custody in
a safe, secure environment and shall strive to achieve an appropriate
balance.
- Participation. Communication,
coordination and teamwork are essential to providing quality treatment
and care. Active participation and input from patients and staff is
sought after and incorporated into continuous performance improvement.
