Medium Security Units
Contraband List for Goodland Hall East Visitation
The following is a summary of the types of contraband for all of the medium security units
in the Forensic Center as it concerns visitation. Visitors should not be allowed to bring
these items onto the units, at least without first contacting the unit staff of the
item(s) and obtaining their agreement/arrangements. (Keeping procedures according to this
list is considered to be a shared responsibility between G.H. Security staff and the unit
staff.)
Not Allowed

Flammable liquids (lighter fluid, glue, aerosol cans)

Tape recorders with external recording capacity

Medication
-
Light bulbs (unattached to lamps)

Tools (screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, gardening equipment,
etc.)

Weapons of any
kind (or facsimiles thereof), including sharp
objects

Octopus outlets or extension cords
-
Razor blades or razors
-
Plant food or fertilizer
-
Laundry soap or bleach
-
Knives, scissors, fingernail clippers, toe nail clippers,
crochet hooks

Incense or candles
-
Can openers
-
Pornography (as defined by policy, generally meaning
depicting sex with minors or depicting sexually-related violence)

Paint (combustible) and thinners
-
Sexual products and appliances
-
Plastic bags or trash liners
-
Alcohol or drugs
-
Glass items such as pop bottles, glass/ceramic containers,
any broken glass

Scented or spiced cigarettes

Irons

Curling irons

Umbrellas

Matches or lighters
