Additional services at Mendota provide
supplemental resources to our patients, staff, and community health care providers.
CLINICAL EDUCATION
Mendota provides internship and clinical
education experience for students preparing for professional specialties in
mental health and related fields. Students from in-state and out-of-state
colleges and universities have formal affiliations with Mendota. Represented
undergraduate and graduate disciplines include: medicine (psychiatry),
clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social work, occupational
therapy, therapeutic recreation, nursing, clinical pastoral counseling,
health administration, alcohol and drug counseling, law, dietetics, and
special education.
Consultation
MMHI provides psychiatric and case consultation to community mental health
boards and other agencies and facilities. Employees provide consultation for
the specialized treatment of patients and for the development of services at
the local level.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND
TRAINING
Mendotas Education Resources Department
provides inservice training and continuing education for community agencies and health
care providers throughout Wisconsin. Training encompasses many aspects of mental health
and related topics. Training is designed to help community agency staff in the assessment,
diagnosis and treatment of mentally ill patients and clients.
PATIENT LIBRARY
SERVICES
Mendotas Patient Library is a valued
resource for patients and staff.
RESEARCH
Mendota staff and affiliates carry out
clinically related research programs. Staff at Mendota have published books and articles
in the field of mental health. Many staff provide presentations and training related to
clinical work at Mendota.
