Civil Program
Mendota’s Civil Program provides services to adults who are in need of
psychiatric treatment. All admissions are involuntary and must be approved
by the human service department of the individual's county of residence.
Civil
Secure Treatment Unit (CSTU)
A 20 bed all male treatment unit for civil
commitment patients who are admitted involuntarily.
Services include assessment, treatment for stabilization of psychiatric
disturbance and individualized behavioral treatment services in a secure
environment
Geropsychiatric
Treatment Unit (GTU)
A coed treatment unit for elderly patients
needing specialized psychiatric evaluation and treatment, including
assessment of interacting physical and emotional problems of aging. A
multidisciplinary approach emphasizes supportive interventions, daily
living skills, personal relationships, and care of concurrent medical
problems.
