Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer participation is vital. One of the most
valued assets of the Wisconsin Resource Center is its volunteers.
The volunteer experience is a win/win situation for you and the
Wisconsin Resource Center.
You can assist the Wisconsin Resource Center in the
delivery of programs and services which will help the inmates and
patients to become more productive, educated, self-sufficient, and law
abiding citizens.
In turn, your volunteer experience can be very rewarding
for you because you will be helping others rise above their
circumstances as a direct result of your efforts.
Currently WRC enjoys the services provided by volunteers
in most of our religious services programs and drug/alcohol education
programs. We have a need for volunteer workers in religious
services, activity therapy, and in our education department.
As a Wisconsin Resource Center "Regular Service" Volunteer
(someone who volunteers on an ongoing basis) you may work a very
flexible schedule contributing as many hours per week as agreed upon
with your Work Area Supervisor. As an "Occasional Volunteer"
you are encouraged to work at least 2 hours per month.
The Wisconsin Resource Center will provide you with
adequate training and the appropriate utilization of your time and
talent.
Special events
The WRC Volunteer Program organizes a special event whereby a plaque
for "Volunteer of the Year" is awarded. This special event provides an
opportunity for WRC Staff to show gratitude to our Volunteer of the Year
for his/her outstanding service to the State of Wisconsin and the
Wisconsin Resource Center.
