H1N1 VACCINE ALLOCATION UPDATE
MADISON - The Department of Health Services (DHS) is providing an update on the
amount of H1N1 vaccine allocated to Wisconsin from the U.S. Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC allocates, or assigns, the
amount of H1N1 vaccine each state will receive each week.
There is a lag time between the state being told its allocation from
the CDC and providers receiving those doses. Currently, Wisconsin has been
allotted a total of 1,002,000 doses of H1N1 vaccine.

Although Wisconsin has been allocated more than one million doses of
vaccine, there is still not enough to open vaccinations to the general
public statewide at this time. DHS continues to monitor the vaccine
supply. As part of this process, DHS has issued a survey to providers to
help assess if the target groups have been reached. This analysis will
help assess when an adequate vaccine supply exists that allows Wisconsin
to extend vaccinations to other groups.
People may call 2-1-1 to find out an H1N1 or seasonal influenza vaccine
clinic nearest them. A “clinic finder” is also available online at http://pandemic.wisconsin.gov
or http://www.wisconsinfluclinic.info.
