Applications Must Be Submitted Between 11/9-11/17

MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle announced today that the Department of Health Services will operate a Disaster FoodShare Program for certain residents of Grant County who were economically affected by severe storms on July 20th. The Disaster FoodShare Program is an additional benefit to current FEMA assistance for households who had expenses or losses because of the flooding and power outages from the storms.

Grant County households currently enrolled on FoodShare who got less than the maximum amount of FoodShare benefits in July 2010 will need to contact Grant County Department of Social Services in person or by phone.

Households that did not receive FoodShare benefits in July 2010 must apply for disaster FoodShare benefits in person at one of the locations below. You must bring proof of identity. If possible, applicants should also bring proof of residency and income for July and August. Households that qualify will receive a one-time FoodShare benefit for the maximum amount according to their household size.

To speed up the application process, households with access to the Internet can print and fill out an application ahead of time at the following website: http://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/foodshare.
