STEPHANIE SMILEY ANNOUNCED AS DEPARTMENT’S NEW
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
MADISONDepartment of Health Services (DHS) Secretary Dennis G.
Smith today named Stephanie Smiley as Communications Director, beginning
immediately.
“Stephanie’s background in internal and external communications, as
well as website and data management, make her well suited for this
position,” said Secretary Smith. “She will play a key role in
promoting awareness of our efforts to effectively serve Wisconsin
residents, and with her skills and talents, we will put forward our
Department’s priorities at this important time in the state’s history.
I am pleased to have her join our team.”
Smiley has nearly 11 years of experience at the Department, including
five years in communications coordinating media relations and outreach,
and managing internal communications, the Department’s website and
emergency planning. Prior to that, she worked as a statistical researcher
in the Division of Public Health, developing publications on Wisconsin’s
health care workforce and health insurance coverage.
Smiley received a bachelor’s degree in art education from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000.
