Educational and Participatory Programs

  • Movin' and Munchin' Schools
    Movin’ and Munchin’ Schools is an innovative program designed to increase the level of physical activity and improve nutrition choices among Wisconsin’s school children and their families and school staff. It also rewards participating schools with funds to improve their nutrition and physical education programs.

  • Wisconsin Nutrition Education Network
    The Wisconsin Nutrition Education Network facilitates collaborative planning of nutrition education programs at the state and local levels.


  • Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

  • Information on a variety of nutrition topics, including daily tips for healthier eating, fad diets, and links to registered dietitians in your area.
  • Fruits and Veggies - More Matters

  • Provides information on the benefits and tips for incorporating fruits and vegetables into your diet, including recipe ideas.

  • Basic facts on creating environments that encourage physical activity, including policy development resources. Also includes a calculator for communities and businesses to calculate what costs are associated with physical inactivity in their community or business.

    Articles on active living and modifying the environment through land use planning which includes interactive tools such as walkability and bikeability checklists to rate your community.

  • National Center for Biking and Walking
    Basic information and resource materials for improving the walking and biking environment. Includes planning materials, policy summaries and a power point presentation.
