Personal Protective Equipment - Public Health Emergency Training (PHET) Series (Exit DHS)

PPE for EMS Algorithm - This sample tool is an algorithm developed by the Wisconsin Hospital Emergency Preparedness Program for use by Emergency Medical Services for medical response calls during a pandemic/biologic event to anticipate the healthcare responder's PPE needs.  (Word, 203 KB)

Webcast 2008

Communicable disease investigation and control and human health hazard abatement are required public health services for all local health departments in Wisconsin (HFS 140.04).  In 2008, as part of the Linking Education and Practice for Excellence in Public Health Nursing (LEAP) grant, the regional public health nurse consultants developed a set of learning modules for new public health nurses. The modules are available at no charge. The disease investigation and control module is divided into four sessions and the human health hazard and other environmental health issue is on module. The modules can be accessed at (link will be available after January 2009)

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in Healthcare Settings- October 1, 2004 

This 12-minute video, developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Infectious Diseases, provides demonstrations of donning and removal of PPE and appropriate hand hygiene. The goal of this program is to increase the safety of the healthcare work environment and promote patient safety through improved use of PPE by healthcare personnel.
