Racine County
Medical Reserve Corps

The City of Racine is divided into three Health Departments, each serving specific districts. The MRC is planning on assisting all three departments with medical surge, community outreach, and all types of clinics as needed. Previously, as part of another MRC, the members have assisted these departments in medicine collections. Also, the members have assisted the local tourism bureau by functioning as first aid tents for marathons, triathlons, and other races/community events. The unit would also be ready to assist Emergency Management in disaster situations. As part of a state-wide Alliance, the Unit would also be ready to respond to state-wide needs. Currently, this is a start-up unit which will be populated by members of a larger six county unit. At present, all members have a medical background, but membership will be open to everyone, whether or not they have a medical background. By partnering with a neighboring state's unit, there would be additional resources available. This has been an ongoing partnership.
