The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the most recent version of the
administrative rule governing hospice providers. Effective August 1, 1999, minor changes
were made to this rule without DHFS going through rulemaking under the Revisor of Statutes
statutory authority. The changes include:

Changing the Chapter number prefix from HSS 131 to HFS 131.

Updating the Department name in the "Department" definition from the
Department of Health & Social Services (DHSS) to the Department of Health & Family
Services (DHFS).

Updating Bureau and Division names and the P.O. Box number in five notes.
-
Changing the Administrative hearings office from DHFS Office of Administrative Hearings
to Department of Administration (DOA), Division of Hearings and Appeals.

References under "Physical environment" regarding Industry, Labor & Human
Relations (ILHR) building and plumbing codes have been changed to Wisconsin Department of
Commerce building and plumbing codes.
