Notice of Change in Certification Fee for Adult Day Cares

This memorandum outlines changes in the certification fee structure for Adult Day Cares (ADCs) consistent with the enactment of the state budget bill, Wisconsin Act 28, that became effective June 29, 2009.

Section 1314 of Wisconsin Act 28 amends 49.45(47)(c), Wis. Stats, to read (in part):

49.45(47)(c) "The biennial fee for the certification required under par. (b) of an adult day care center is $127. Fees collected under this paragraph shall be credited to the appropriation account under 20.435(6)(jm)."

The Department of Health Services will implement the new biennial certification fees on October 1, 2009. The fees will apply to regularly scheduled certification continuations and to new certification applications. When certification continuations are due, ADCs will receive advance notice from the appropriate Bureau of Assisted Living regional office. This notice will reflect the new certification fee.

Wisconsin Act 28 (2009) is available for review at the following website: (exit DHS)
