The Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Technology, Licensing and Education, Education Services Section, is pleased to announce the availability of a taped web cast presentation titled, "F441: Infection Control - Guidance to Surveyors".

On July 20, 2009, CMS issued revisions to Appendix PP - Interpretive Guidelines for Long Term Care Facilities for F-tag 441. These updated guidelines became effective September 30, 2009.

Objectives:

• Identify and describe the revisions to the interpretive guidelines for Infection Control.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the contents of the revised guidance to surveyors for F441.
• Appropriately and accurately utilize the revised guidance and investigative protocol during the survey process.

Intended Audience:

Long-term care surveyors and nursing home providers.
