Survey data for Wisconsin.
-
Adverse Childhood Experiences in Wisconsin: Findings from the 2010 Behavioral Risk Factor Survey
(exit DHS). This report, published by the Wisconsin's Children's Trust Fund,
provides information about
the prevalence of early-life experiences such as physical and sexual abuse, parental substance abuse,
and other negative household environmental factors experienced by Wisconsin residents before age 18.
Data from the CDC's BRFSS Adverse Childhood Experiences question module, included in the Wisconsin BRFS
in 2010, are examined, and associations between adverse experiences and adult risk behaviors and mental/physical
health outcomes are noted. The report offers recommendations based on the findings.
- The Burden of Asthma in Wisconsin, 2010
(PDF, 7.9 MB). This report, produced by the Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health
in the Division of Public Health, is a comprehensive study of asthma in the Wisconsin population. It includes sections on
adult and child asthma prevalence, risk factors associated with asthma, asthma management and quality of life,
health care utilization associated with asthma, and asthma-associated mortality. The report incorporates data
from the BRFS Asthma Callback Survey, a follow-up survey conducted in conjunction with the Wisconsin BRFS since 2006.
- The Epidemic of Chronic
Disease in Wisconsin: Why It Matters to the Economy and What You Can Do to Help
(PDF, 6.3 MB). This report, a product of collaboration by several Division of Public
Health programs, including BRFS, provides a look at chronic diseases, and their associated risk factors and costs,
in an integrated format. It illustrates how certain risk factors are common to more than one chronic disease, and
suggests that reduction of such risk factors can have far-reaching benefits for both population health and
the state-level economy.
- Obesity, Nutrition,
and Physical Activity in Wisconsin
(PDF, 21.6 MB). This 2008 report addresses obesity and its related costs among Wisconsin
adults and youth. The report presents data on multiple factors that contribute to obesity, along with information
