Adverse Childhood Experiences in Wisconsin: Findings from the 2010 Behavioral Risk Factor Survey
(exit DHS; PDF, 47.9 MB). This report, published by the Wisconsin's Children's
Trust Fund, provides information about
the prevalence of adverse early-life experiences and negative household environmental factors experienced by
Wisconsin residents before age 18.
Data from the BRFS Adverse Childhood Experiences module are examined, and associations between adverse experiences
and adult risk behaviors and health outcomes are noted. The report offers recommendations based on the findings.
- Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System

brief from the Comprehensive Cancer Control Program at the University of Wisconsin presents results from the BRFS
Cancer Survivorship module.
- The Burden of Asthma in Wisconsin, 2010
(PDF, 7.9 MB). This report, produced by the Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health
in the Division of Public Health, is a comprehensive study of asthma in the Wisconsin population. It incorporates data
from both the BRFS annual survey and the BRFS Asthma Callback Survey, a follow-up survey conducted in Wisconsin
since 2006.

Mental and Physical Health Conditions in Wisconsin: Implications for Health Care Delivery
(exit DHS; PDF, 873 KB) (August 2009). This issue brief, published by the
University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, presents highlights from the DHS/DPH report, Linking
Mental and Physical Health: Results from the Wisconsin Behavioral Risk Factor Survey (2009), along
with a discussion of the impact of co-occurring mental and physical health care needs on the health care system.
- The Epidemic of Chronic
Disease in Wisconsin: Why It Matters to the Economy and What You Can Do to Help
(PDF, 6.3 MB). This report, a product of collaboration by several Division of Public
Health programs, including BRFS, provides a look at chronic diseases, and their associated risk factors and costs,
in an integrated format. It identifies risk factors common to multiple chronic diseases, and
suggests that reduction of such risk factors can have far-reaching benefits for both population health and
the state-level economy.
- Obesity, Nutrition,
and Physical Activity in Wisconsin
(PDF, 21.6 MB). This 2008 report addresses obesity and its related costs among Wisconsin
adults and youth. The report presents data on multiple factors that contribute to obesity, along with information
on negative outcomes known to be linked with obesity, including health consequences and the
economic costs of related health care.
