WCRS: Wisconsin-Specific Abstract Plus
About Abstract Plus
Abstract Plus is an application developed by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) which is used to summarize medical records into an electronic report, or abstract, of cancer diagnosis and treatment. It supports the abstraction of all data items in national standard data sets, including all text fields. Its output is an electronic abstract in the format of the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) data exchange format. This abstract is then submitted to the Wisconsin Cancer Reporting System (WCRS) using Web Plus to fulfill cancer reporting requirements.
All users are encouraged to bookmark the Abstract Plus User Manual (PDF) for reference. New users are encouraged to read it in full prior to abstracting. For support, contact WCRS at dhswcrsdata@dhs.wisconsin.gov.
