The 2007 age-adjusted injury-related mortality rate for Wisconsin males was 85 deaths per 100,000 male
population. The comparable rate for Wisconsin females in 2007 was 37 deaths per 100,000 females. Rates for
both males and females have been relatively unchanged since 1989. A major change in the International
Classification of Diseases in 1999 has been shown to increase the number of deaths attributed to injuries
by about 3% nationally (see Trend Analysis Caution).
