A Celebration of Trees - Madison, Wisconsin

"Madison is full of beautiful trees, from those in yards to street terraces to the UW Campus, Arboretum, the Square and city parks. The wealth of trees is part of what makes Madison a very desirable city.

My aim is to highlight the beauty of the tree. The images are not strictly documentary, but capture light that gives a special essence to the images.

The Arbor Day website states: "In laboratory research, visual exposure to settings with trees has produced significant recovery from stress within five minutes, as indicated by changes in blood pressure and muscle tension."-Dr. Roger S. Ulrich Texas A&M University. I urge you to take a stress break and enjoy! We all need to stop and appreciate our environment; my goal is to encourage you to do that. The exhibit consists of 15 photographs framed to 16" x 20", all of trees. It is currently hanging in the hall outside of the Mayor's office in the City County Building."

Kathryn is an award winning artists with numerous previous exhibits including the Lt. Governor's Office, WI Arts Board, Monona Terrace Gift Shop and UW Union Theatre Gallery.
