Wisconsin Heart Disease and Stroke Surveillance Summary January 2007
The Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program, Bureau of Community Health Promotion, Wisconsin Division of Public Health produced this report with the guidance of the Cardiovascular Health Epidemiology Task Force. This independent task force was comprised of epidemiologists, practitioners, advocates and others from organizations throughout Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin data in this report were produced by the DHS, Division of Public Health (DPH), Bureau of Health Information and Policy. The national trend data were provided by the American Heart Association, Biostatistics Consultant, National Center. The purpose of this report is to present the current status in Wisconsin of cardiovascular disease and mortality (deaths), Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) hospitalizations with an estimate of associated charges, and the prevalence CVD risk factors.
The Burden of Cardiovascular Disease in Wisconsin
The Wisconsin HDSP program, in partnership with the American Heart Association- Greater Midwest Affiliate, produced the report "The Burden of Cardiovascular Disease in Wisconsin" (PDF, 3.4 MB) in 2010. The report contains information about Cardiovascular Disease for each of the 72 counties in the state, as well as for Wisconsin as a whole.
