The State of Wisconsin, Department of Health Services (DHS), Disability Determination Bureau (DDB) is currently recruiting for Physicians and Psychologists to provide consulting services in the evaluation of disability applications for Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid.
DDB is the bureau responsible for making determinations of disability under titles II, XVI, and XIX of the Social Security Act. This function is performed under contract with the Social Security Administration (SSA). The disability determination process requires consultation services from qualified physicians, psychologists and speech-language pathologists on an ongoing basis.
We are interested in applications from psychologists and physicians, licensed in Wisconsin, with training and recent experience in internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, neurology, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and occupational medicine. Consultants will participate with disability determination specialists in the evaluation of all types of mental and physical disabilities under Social Security laws and regulations. Consultants review case records with no direct claimant contact. For at least the first 12 months, the work must be performed at our offices located in downtown Madison.
Review of proposals will continue until the needs of the DDB are met. Thereafter, recruitment will be on a continuous basis as workload and consultant resources dictate.
