Wisconsin Department of Health Services Seeking Proposals For Managed Care Organizations in Several Areas of the State
MADISON-Wisconsin Department of Health Services Secretary Kitty Rhoades announced today that the department is seeking proposals from interested parties to contract as managed care organizations for the delivery of Family Care and Family Care Partnership programs in several areas of Wisconsin. The proposals are requested for MCOs in the following areas:
- The counties of Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, and Washburn currently served by NorthernBridges.
- Milwaukee County, which is currently served by Milwaukee County Department of Family Care, iCare and Community Care, Inc.
- Dane County, only for the partnership program, which is currently served by Care Wisconsin First, Inc.
"The five year contracting process allows us to review all options to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to access quality care, while allowing them the opportunity and the dignity to make their own choices based on their own individual needs," Rhoades said.
Family Care and Family Care Partnership are Medicaid programs that are governed under federal and state requirements. The successful proposal will be contracted for all or part of calendar year 2014 with the option of four, one-year renewals. The State also may use the results from the RFPs to award contracts for Family Care Partnership for all or part of calendar year 2014 or 2015 with renewal options.
Proposals cannot be submitted later than 2:00 PM CT on July 19, 2013.
