Statutorily Required Reports

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is statutorily required to provide one-time, quarterly, annual, and biennial reports on behalf of the agency. DHS is required to provide these reports and information to the legislature and governor.

Wisconsin Stat. 250.03(3)(b)

Biennially, after first consulting with the adjutant general, local health departments, health care providers, as defined in s. 146.81 (1) (a) to (p), and law enforcement agencies, as defined in s. 165.77 (1) (b), the department shall submit to the legislature under s. 13.172 (2) and to the governor a report on the preparedness of the public health system to address public health emergencies.

Report on Family Care Enrollees Admitted to Mental Health Institutes

Gov Veto Act 20

One-time mandate due June 30, 2015. DHS is directed by the Governor in his veto message to: 1) analyze the factors that contribute to impediments in providing appropriate, patient-centered and coordinated treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health, behavioral health and long-term care needs, including an insufficient number of placement options and to recommend options for addressing these factors, including the role of the department's mental health institutes and centers for the developmentally disabled; and 2) review and recommend organizational changes to improve the development and implementation of policies to better address the needs of individuals with mental and behavioral health needs in the state's long-term care delivery systems.

Wisconsin Stat. 250.03(3)(b)

Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services State Plan, 2016-2018 Wisconsin Stat. § 256.08 (a) By December 31, 1995, the department shall prepare a state emergency medical services plan. The plan shall include an identification of priorities for changes in the state emergency medical services system for the two years following preparation of the plan. In preparing the plan, the department shall review all statutes and rules that relate to emergency medical services and recommend in the plan any changes in those statutes and rules that the department considers appropriate. After initial preparation of the plan, the department shall keep the plan current and shall reorder priorities for changes in the state emergency medical services system, based on determinations of the board. 01/2016
Report on Relocations and Diversions from Institutions - SFY 2015

Wisconsin Stat. § 51.06(8)(b)

(a) In this subsection: 1. “Intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities” has the meaning given in 42 USC 1396d (d). 2. “Medical assistance programs” has the meaning given in Wis. Stat. § 49.43 (8). 3. “Nursing home” has the meaning given in Wis. Stat. § 50.01(3). (b) Annually by October 1, the department shall submit to the joint committee on finance and to the appropriate standing committees of the legislature under Wis. Stat. § 13.172(3) a report that includes information collected from the previous fiscal year on the relocation or diversion of individuals who are Medical Assistance eligibles or recipients from nursing homes, intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities, and state centers for the developmentally disabled.

Dementia Crisis Unit Pilot Proposal

2015 Wisconsin Act 272

Before November 1, 2016, the department shall prepare a proposal for one or more pilot programs for coalitions of 2 or more counties to create dementia crisis units. The department shall submit the proposal under this paragraph to the appropriate standing committees of the legislature with jurisdiction over health, aging and long−term care, or mental health issues under section 13.172 (3) of the statutes.
